The project aims to provide a possibility of communicating unexpressable emotions in order to enable two persons to reenact with their anxiety and thus, create empathy.
The result is a glove wearable, which is a device for transmitting body data of the scared person to an empathic person, who is wearing the second wearbale, which has to be worn on the back. Through processing the body data, measured with skin conductivity and pulse sensors of the scared, it recreates the notion of anxiety through tensioning the chest of the empath with a stepper motor and mimicking a cold chill with vibration motors.
If empathy is felt by the empath, measured through skin conductivity and pulse as well, the wearable is also sending data. This can also be felt by the scared. Thus, a loop and an intense relation can be set up between to persons, which helps to create a common ground and to make unexpressable feelings experiencable.
To symbolize the emergence of this moment of empathy, an artifact is created. This artifact is a 3d-printed geode, whose outer surface depicts the anxiety of the scared person, the inner surface is designed by the values of the empath and the connecting layer represents the emapthy level between the two persons.
